Is your current Emergency Response Plan adequate to protect your employees, the community, property and the environment at an incident at your site or workplace?

A number of organisations are responsible to ensure they are up to date with emergency response laws to ensure they are meeting their obligations, and to ensure their Emergency Plans are appropriate to their organisation.

Often organisations do find that when they are put to the test, their emergency preparedness fails to meet their own expectations and the expectations of the authorities and emergency services bodies.

For Emergency Response Plans to remain current and effective, they must be reviewed on a regular basis and revised where necessary.

The Australian Environment Business Network (AEBN) together with Peter J Ramsay & Associates, lawyers and the experts have developed this Workshop to provide –

  • Your legal obligations in emergencies from across jurisdictions within Australia
  • the expectations of the authorities (including fire authorities) when attending your site during an incident
  • emergency management process
  • the roles and responsibilities in emergency management
  • the risks and issues for businesses to consider as part of their emergency response plan
  • critical information for developing, updating and implementing an Emergency Response Plan
    • Emergency management concepts and principles
    • Emergency management structure and organisational responsibilities
    • Prevention and preparedness
    • Risk management
    • Emergency management planning and training
    • Information management
    • and more.
  • Guidance notes (WorkSafe) and fact sheets (Safework)
  • Case studies – various companies will present on how they developed their emergency response plan…

On completion of Workshop

Participants will have the knowledge and understanding to apply these broad principles of emergency management at their site and/or workplace.

Networking Opportunities

A comprehensive set of course notes will be provided to all delegates as well as the opportunity to Network with presenters and delegates during AEBN’s Networking refreshment breaks (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea).
