The cost of waste treatment and disposal, as well as the increase in government levy, are placing an increasing burden on business. A number of businesses have delivered significant savings through better waste management and minimisation.
This Workshop will focus on new waste laws, liabilities, obligations and methods for waste reduction, which will include case studies.
This Workshop will cover:
- an overview of Fedeal and Victorian waste legislation – your legal obligations
- identify waste reuse and recycling opportunities
- explore waste reductions and cost savings
- strategies for waste avoidance
- funding opportunities
- tools for the development and implementation of an effective waste / resource management plan
- case studies –
- new technology that signficantly reduces sludge waste that has proved significant cost reductions
- landfill emissions to renewable energy, powering residential estates, reducing a council’s carbon price liability.
Note: The Victorian workshop will focus on laws that apply to businesses operating in Victoria; with the New South Wales workshop focusing on laws that apply to business operating in New South Wales.
