INTERMEDIATE LEVEL WORKSHOP –\u00a0 PM Half Day, 2 April\u00a02014<\/strong><\/p>\n

This comprehensive and practical Workshop has been\u00a0designed to bring you up to speed with\u00a0Dangerous Goods laws and requirements in Victoria\u00a0to an Intermediate Level.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As each state has different Dangerous Goods laws and requirements,\u00a0AEBN’s Intermediate Level\u00a0 to Dangerous Goods Storage, Handling and Transport Workshop<\/em> will\u00a0include – the \u00a0segregation of\u00a0dangerous goods\u00a0rules, chemical compatibility, placarding of stores,\u00a0vehicles and containers, labeling, bunding rules of storage of dangerous goods, risk assessment requirements and much more.<\/p>\n

Please note:\u00a0 Organisations have an obligation to ensure they are up to date and compliant with dangerous goods laws, including the changes, and that staff receive appropriate training.\u00a0 The AEBN recommends that staff receive refresher training every 2 to 3 years, and certainly when changes\u00a0are\u00a0introduced.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

Program\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

This comprehensive\u00a0workshop will use\u00a0practical exercises\u00a0throughout the session and will cover –\u00a0<\/p>\n

  • Dangerous Goods and Substance Registers, Manifests and threshold Quantities<\/li>\n
  • Segregation and compatibility of chemicals<\/li>\n
  • The\u00a0segregation rules and techniques – segregation devices (stores and vehicles)<\/li>\n
  • Placarding of stores, vehicles and containers<\/li>\n
  • Labeling<\/li>\n
  • Bunding rules for storage of dangerous goods<\/li>\n
  • Documentation required for the transport of dangerous goods<\/li>\n
  • Risk assessment requirements<\/li>\n
  • Compliance strategies, and the use of Australian Standards<\/li>\n
  • Practical and hands on exercises.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Lunch will be provided to delegates attending the Introductory and Intermediate Level to Dangerous Goods Storage, Handling and Transport Workshop.<\/p>\n

      John Manning, National Dangerous Goods Specialist, <\/strong>Australian Environment Business Network (AEBN)<\/strong><\/p>\n

      John is AEBN’s dangerous goods expert.\u00a0 He has a wealth of experience and knowledge that spans well over 30 years in dangerous goods, hazardous substances, risk assessments and management, Emergency Response, Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), training, auditing and consultancy, in particular, within the Australian and Asia Pacific Region’s chemical, plastics, mining, textiles, food and agricultural sectors.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
