{"id":6658,"date":"2014-01-03T15:38:25","date_gmt":"2014-01-03T04:38:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aebn.com.au\/?post_type=tribe_events&amp;p=6658"},"modified":"2014-01-03T15:38:25","modified_gmt":"2014-01-03T04:38:25","slug":"new-victorian-regulations-introductory-level-to-dangerous-goods-storage-handling-transport-workshop-am-half-day-13-sept-2013-2","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/aebn.com.au\/aebn-events\/event\/new-victorian-regulations-introductory-level-to-dangerous-goods-storage-handling-transport-workshop-am-half-day-13-sept-2013-2\/","title":{"rendered":"New Victorian Regulations &#8211; INTRODUCTORY LEVEL TO DANGEROUS GOODS STORAGE, HANDLING &#038; TRANSPORT WORKSHOP &#8211; AM Half Day, 13 Sept 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">SUMMARY\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>Please scroll down for Program<\/em> <\/span><\/h2>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Presented by the<\/span><br \/><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Australian Environment Business Network (AEBN)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>INTRODUCTORY LEVEL WORKSHOP &#8211;\u00a013 SEPTEMBER 2013, AM HALF DAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>On 1 December 2012, new regulations for the storage and handling of dangerous goods, <em>Dangerous Goods (Storage &amp; Handling) Regulations 2012,\u00a0<\/em>came into effect in Victoria.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Australian Environment Business Network (AEBN) has designed this workshop to bring you up to speed with the new changes to the regulations.<\/p>\n<p>The key changes introduced by the Regulations relate to the application of the regulations, in particular &#8211; the definitions and terms.\u00a0 The Regulations\u00a0also affect the requirements regarding the &#8211; Classification and labelling; Preparation of a Materials Safety Data Sheet (MSDS); Risk assessment and review; External placarding; Register; Incidents; Notification of quantities in excess of manifest quantities, and much more.\u00a0 The Regulations 2012 continue to impose requirements on the same duty holders as the &#8216;Interim&#8217; Regulations, such as the manufacturers, first suppliers and occupiers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Organisations have an obligation to ensure they are up to date and compliant with these changes, and that staff receive appropriate training.\u00a0 The AEBN recommends that staff receive refresher training every 2 to 3 years, and certainly when new legislation is introduced.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">NOTE<\/span>:\u00a0\u00a0 The\u00a0Victorian Workshop will cover the Federal and\u00a0Victorian laws and requirements.
