{"id":1530,"date":"2012-05-01T01:00:47","date_gmt":"2012-04-30T15:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/development04.greghardwick.com.au\/?post_type=tribe_events&amp;p=1530"},"modified":"2012-05-01T01:00:47","modified_gmt":"2012-04-30T15:00:47","slug":"introductory-level-dangerous-goods-storage-and-handling-workshop-oct-24-2012","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/aebn.com.au\/aebn-events\/event\/introductory-level-dangerous-goods-storage-and-handling-workshop-oct-24-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"Introductory level &#8211; Dangerous Goods Storage, Handling &#038; Transport Workshop &#8211; October 24, 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 This workshop will be repeated on\u00a030 October 2012.\u00a0 To REGISTER please\u00a0select &#8216;Events &amp; Training&#8217;, then &#8216;Upcoming Events&#8217; (above) and select\u00a0&#8216;Introductory&#8230;Workshop 30 October 2012&#8217;\u00a0to Register.<\/span>\u00a0<\/h3>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>Summary<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Presented by the<\/span><br \/><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Australian Environment Business Network (AEBN)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>New Victorian Dangerous Goods regulations are set to come into effect on 1 December 2012.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A number of significant changes have taken place in the past 10 months that relate to the safe STORAGE, HANDLING AND TRANSPORT of dangerous goods and hazardous chemicals across Australia.\u00a0 Organisations have an\u00a0obligation to ensure they are up to date and compliant with these changes, and that staff receive appropriate training.<\/p>\n<p>On 1 January 2012, the new model Work Health and Safety laws (WHS Act and Regulations) commenced in New South Wales, Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory, the Commonwealth and Northern Territory.\u00a0Jurisdicational progress on implementing the model work health and safety laws has been delayed in other states.<\/p>\n<p>For those jurisdictions which have already implemented the new WHS laws, the changes will impact on the way you STORE, HANDLE AND TRANSPORT dangerous goods and\u00a0hazardous chemicals within those States and Territories.<\/p>\n<p><strong>With reference to Victoria,\u00a0Worksafe Victoria had recently published its draft workplace safety laws that relate to the safe handling of dangerous goods.\u00a0 The proposed draft Dangerous Goods (Storage &amp; Handling) Regulations 2012 are currently out for public comment.\u00a0\u00a0Its planned implementation date is 1 December 2012.\u00a0 The\u00a0draft Victorian regulations will be covered in this workshop.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The AEBN recommends that staff receive refresher training every 2 to 3 years.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Please note<\/span>:\u00a0\u00a0The\u00a0Victorian Workshop will cover the Federal and\u00a0Victorian laws and requirements.
