The National Environment Protection Council is continuing its development of a NEPM on air toxics. AEBN® is a member of the Non-Government Organisations committee reviewing this proposed NEPM. The NEPM is focusing on five pollutants – benzene, formaldehyde, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), toluene, and xylenes.
The outcome is a potential set of standards or response limits on these substances for ambient air quality. AEBN® submission is the first of a number of responses, which are normally required to prepare a NEPM.
